Photographs will be enhanced and manipulated electronically by use of computer editing software applications such as photoshop and CS6. Students will gain a new appreciation for photography and the magic behind photographic enhancement. As the use of a digital camera is essential for this class, access to a digital camera is necessary. Any type of digital camera, except cell phone cameras, will be acceptable.

PHOTO II

While continuing the study of digital photography, students will also study the history of photography through hands-on exploration of darkroom film processing and photograph development. Students will work with black and white film, learn how to properly load, unload and take photographs using traditional film cameras. Students will also learn how to prepare, process and develop black and white film, along with exposing negatives and enlarging images to create positive photographs. Students enrolled in this course will automatically be enrolled to take the Adobe Certification Associate exam which allows students to demonstrate proficiency in Adobe digital communications tools. Students who pass the exam wii receive a Certified Associate and stand apart from their peers, boost their confidence, and expand their career opportunities at a global level. As the use of a 35mm film camera is critical for this course, access to a traditional 35mm film camera is necessary. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Photo I course, access to  a 35 mm or medium format SLR film camera, and a digital camera.
